Remembering Duncan Emmanuel Kibagendi

Duncan Emmanuel Kibagendi (1993 – 2026)

It is with heavy hearts and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Duncan Emmanuel Kibagendi, a vibrant, free-spirited, and brilliant legal professional, who went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2026, at the age of 32. Born in Kisii on September 29, 1993, to Prof. Samson Maobe and Dr. Martha Kemunto, Duncan lived a life filled with energy, artistic flair, and genuine warmth toward everyone he met.

Early Life & Education

Duncan grew up alongside his siblings as the lastborn in a close-knit family. He attended Genesis Preparatory School, St. Mary’s Mosocho Boys Boarding School, and St. George’s Grassland Academy Nakuru before proceeding to Moi Kabarak High School, where he sat for his KCSE examinations. Driven by purpose and academic brilliance, he joined Moi University to pursue a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. He received his introduction to Christianity at Nyabururu Catholic Church, where he was baptized and later received First Holy Communion and Confirmation.

Family & Legacy

Duncan was the beloved youngest son of Prof. Samson Maobe and Dr. Martha Kemunto. He was a cherished brother to Sheilla Moraa, Dr. Robin Mose, and Colette, a proud uncle to Alvin and Gavin, and a dear relative and loyal friend to many. He was known for his love of bicycle riding, decorated service as a scout, and his ability to bring laughter and warmth into every room.

Interment Details

The funeral service and final interment took place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, following a Requiem Mass at St. Paul’s Nyabururu Field and burial at his family home in Kisii County.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” — Revelation 21:4
