Clement Oendo Omwega

It is with heavy hearts and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Mzee Clement Oendo Omwega, a respected community patriarch, farmer, and devout Catholic catechist, who peacefully slept in the Lord at the remarkable age of 106 years. Born in 1920 in Kebariga (Gusura Esonko village) to the late Omwega Mong'ate and the late Kwamboka Nyankune, Mzee Clement lived an extraordinary, long life defined by faith, hard work, unity, and selfless service across four generations.

Family & Legacy In 1942, Mzee Clement was united in marriage with Selina Kemunto Siocha. He was a loving husband, father, and anchor to a vast family. He was blessed with 19 children, a cherished father-in-law, brother, uncle, and a doting grandfather to 300 grandchildren and 100 great-grandchildren. Known as a gentle mediator and historian of his clan, his home at Kebariga was always open to all.

Career, Faith & Leadership Mzee Clement worked at Kericho Tea Estates, Timbolua, and MajiMazuri, and was an active farmer of maize and coffee, as well as a livestock trader. A dedicated Catholic catechist who served at Kericho Catholic Mission, Rangenyo, Kebirigo, Magwagwa, and St. Thomas the Apostle Church-Ensoko, he guided many to Christ. He also served as treasurer for Gekendo DOK Primary School and Gekendo Harambee.

Interment Details The Requiem Mass was held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at St. Thomas Ensoko, followed by final interment on Friday, October 2, 2026, at his home in Egesura Ensoko, Nyamira County.
