Benford Omosa Okemwa (1957 – 2026)

It is with deep sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Benford Omosa Okemwa, a distinguished educationist, retired high school principal, and devoted Christian leader, who went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2026, at the age of 69. Born in 1957 in Nyamakoroto Sub-location, Masaba North, Nyamira County, Benford lived a life marked by integrity, wisdom, academic excellence, and selfless service.

Education & Professional Career

Benford studied at Nyamakoroto Primary School, Nyansiongo High School, and Bungoma High School before joining Siriba Teachers College, where he earned his teaching diploma. He began his career at Ityobe Secondary School and later taught at Nyambaria High School, rising through the ranks to Deputy Principal. He subsequently served with distinction as Principal at Prince Secondary School (2008–2012) and Kabitichi Secondary School (2013–2019).

Faith & Family Life

A devout Christian, Benford was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 2010 and actively served in Education and Adventist Campus Ministries. He was happily married to Navency Nyamoita Omosa, and together they were blessed with three children: Dr. Edwin Omosa, Ruth Omosa, and Lameck Omosa. He was a doting father-in-law to Fridah, Voilettah, and Stacy, a proud grandfather to Ethan, Ivy, and Elliana, and a cherished brother and uncle to many.
