How Much Does a Hearse Cost in Kenya?

There is no standard national price for hiring a hearse in Kenya. Pasted text

The cost depends on the actual funeral journey.

What affects the price?

A provider may consider:

• vehicle selected
• kilometres travelled
• local or upcountry journey
• road conditions
• waiting time
• additional convoy vehicles
• whether transport is part of a larger funeral package

A short transfer within one town will naturally be different from a journey from Nairobi to Nyamira, Kisii, Migori or another county.

How do you get an accurate quotation?

Give the funeral provider four important details:

Mortuary location

Burial location

Burial date

Preferred hearse

The provider can then price the actual journey.

What should you confirm?

Ask whether the quotation includes:

• fuel
• driver
• complete mileage
• collection from the mortuary
• waiting time
• return journey where relevant

Do not choose a hearse only from a headline price.

Two quotations may look different because they do not include the same journey.

The most useful price is the one that tells the family what the entire required service will actually cost.
